The government published in the official bulletin the new criteria it will use for the distribution of beef export quotas from now until 2030. This impacts the distribution of the Hilton Quota that is sent to the European Union, which is 29,500 tons but could be expanded if the agreement between Mercosur and that economic bloc prospers. It also affects the distribution of the current quota with the United States of 20,000 tons with zero tariff and its potential expansion up to 80,000 tons. In summary, the new criteria focus on the export history, leaving aside criteria previously claimed by industrial sectors such as regionality or the amount of employment. In this way, the large exporters who are already in the business would be benefited.
