The Consumer Rights Protection Association (TÜHAK) in Turkey has appealed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to ban Chinese salt (monosodium glutamate), a common ingredient in many food products, citing its addictive nature and potential health risks, particularly in children and the elderly. The association has supported their request with scientific evidence, highlighting concerns over diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, diabetes, kidney, and liver problems. They have advocated for the consumption of natural foods and products and emphasized that the substance is banned in several countries, including the US.
