Research on growing green lentils and green mung beans was initiated this year by a farm in the Kyiv region

At TVK Seed Agrocompany, almost half of the 1,500 hectares of cultivated land is dedicated to leguminous crops (specifically 700 hectares). Of these, the main areas are for soybeans, along with 220 hectares of peas and 100 hectares of small white beans. Currently, the farm is researching technologies and prospects for growing niche crops such as lentils and mung beans. This was shared in a commentary for SuperAgronom.com by the farm's manager, Volodymyr Topalov, during the All-Ukrainian Field Day "Profit Formula," organized jointly with the Ukrainian Bean and Soybean Association (UBSA). According to him, mung beans are promising both as an export crop (particularly in traditional cuisine in Central and Southeast Asia, in India, etc.) and have chances of gaining some prevalence in protein nutrition in Ukraine.
