The Ministry of Commerce in Turkey has imposed restrictions on the export of red meat, with the exception of exports to Northern Cyprus, Azerbaijan, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The restriction, outlined in a letter from the Istanbul Regional Directorate of Customs and Foreign Trade, is aimed at maintaining national meat supply security and balancing supply and demand. The export of bovine, sheep, and goat meat under certain headings is to be halted from March 19, 2022, except for those with a veterinary health certificate issued prior to this date.
