In 2022, Russian grain exports saw a 3% increase compared to the previous year, reaching 126 countries. The Middle East, Africa, and Asia were the top buyers, accounting for 39%, 20%, and 31% of purchases, respectively. The European Union contributed 7%. Notable increases in exports included grain processing products by 69% and cereals by 37%. Russia also signed agreements with China for wheat and barley exports, and is in discussions with Saudi Arabia about wheat supply. Despite these successes, Russia continues to fight against the illegal export of grain to Kazakhstan and has made progress in combating false declarations of grain products.
