Ukraine: Retail pork was more affordable in November

During November, the price of chilled pork at the meat counters of supermarkets was on average 1.1% lower than a month earlier, ‒205.7 UAH/kg. If in October the average price of pork fluctuated between UAH 207.5-209/kg, then in November it was in the range of UAH 203.5-207.5/kg, the association "Swinemakers of Ukraine" (ASU) reported. At the same time, the average purchase price of live pork in November was 5.9% higher than in October: UAH 61.2/kg. "However, although retail prices approached November 2023 prices (204.4 UAH/kg), pig carcasses were 13.6% cheaper than last year," ASU emphasized. The change in the prices of the main cuts (shoulders, breasts, thighs) was limited to 1%.
