Russia reduces banana imports from Ecuador to a 12-year low

Ecuador's banana exports to Russia have seen a 20 percent decrease compared to 2023, with the country's deliveries making up a quarter of Latin America's total banana export. Over the past five years, Russia has imported an average of 958 thousand tons of bananas annually, with Ecuador contributing 755 thousand tons in 2012. Alongside Ecuador, Guatemala also plays a significant role in supplying bananas to Russia.
