Brazil: Rice exports exceed 100,000 tons in May

Brazilian rice exports (husk basis) in May this year totaled 103,300 tons, which generated revenue of US$41.8 million. The numbers were released this Thursday (20) by the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz), based on data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC). Shipments registered a 47.70% drop in volume compared to the same month in 2023, when they totaled 197,500 tons. In terms of revenue, the drop was 38.60%.
