From January to November 2022, Brazil's rice exports saw a significant increase, with a volume of 1.83 million tons and revenues of US$ 568.9 million, marking an 186% increase in volume and 80% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2021. November alone saw exports of 159.7 thousand tons, earning US$ 55.4 million. The majority of these exports were raw materials, but there was also a notable increase in exports of processed rice, reaching 483.7 thousand tons with revenues of US$ 167.6 million. The main importers included Algeria, the United States, and Cape Verde, among others. Efforts to promote Brazilian processed rice have included ten actions under the Brazilian Rice project, a partnership between Abiarroz and ApexBrasil, with plans to further increase exports of processed products in the future.
