Brazil ended the third quarter of 2025 with stability in rice exports compared to the same period last year, according to the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz), based on data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC). From July to September, 464.2 thousand tons (hull basis) were shipped, compared to 473.2 thousand tons in 2024. The revenue, however, fell by 33.6%, totaling US$ 126.2 million. According to the Director of International Affairs of Abiarroz, Gustavo Trevisan, the quarter was marked by a sharp drop in international prices, caused by the aggressive action of major exporters such as India, Thailand, and Vietnam, which pressured global quotations, including in Brazil. Nevertheless, the volume exported remained stable. The main destinations, in value, were Senegal, Venezuela, and Peru, with 61.71% of the total corresponding to milled rice.
