Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, and Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Techno Hun Sen, have discussed ways to increase bilateral trade between their countries. This includes increasing palm oil exports from Malaysia to Cambodia and rice imports from Cambodia to Malaysia. They also discussed collaboration in areas such as information and communications technology, financial technology, cybersecurity, small and medium enterprises, and business start-ups. The prime ministers also discussed the potential for cooperation in the halal sector, with Malaysia offering to assist Cambodia in developing its halal ecosystem. The total trade between the two countries surpassed $500 million in 2021, marking a 13.14% increase from the previous year.
