REPUBLICA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Sudaryono, conveyed that the productivity of national rice has become a concern for several countries, including China. In a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China (PRC), Maierdan Mugaiti, both parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, one of which is rice milling. Currently, Indonesia is focusing on increasing the production of this staple food commodity as part of efforts to achieve national self-sufficiency. Rice productivity has continued to show an upward trend in recent months.
