Rice sector calls for measures against falling prices

Facing the continuous and significant drop in husked rice prices, the sector is calling for some actions, as pointed out by a survey from Cepea. Among the measures being considered are the temporary withdrawal of the Rice Cooperation and Defense Tax (CDO), the reduction of the ICMS, as well as actions to curb imports – especially from Paraguay, a strong competitor of the Brazilian product.
