Hungary: Prices are becoming more expensive in the food market

According to AKI's report, Hungarian green peas and green beans appeared in the selection of the Budapest Wholesale Market in mid-May for 2,200 forints per kilogram, while in the 20th week the former was offered for 1,800 forints per kilogram, the latter being 1,900 forints, Infostart wrote. Both legumes became more expensive compared to the same period of the previous year: last week in the 20th week a kilo of green peas cost 1,600 forints, while in the 22nd week it was 1650 forints. In contrast, the average price of domestic new potatoes fell to HUF 325 per kilogram by the 20th week, so its price decreased by 7 percent compared to a year earlier. Domestic-grown sweet peppers to be stuffed were added to the 20th week's offer at an average price of HUF 750 per kilogram, the same as a year earlier, while domestic bell peppers rose by 20% to HUF 1,560 per kilogram, the Portfolio writes, citing the report.
