Brazil: Government grants 10% readjustment in the Potiguar Milk Program

The State Government granted a 10% readjustment in the Potiguar Milk Program (PLP) for participating suppliers of bovine and goat milk, family farmers, medium and large producers and contracted processing plants (dairies). In three years, the Fátima Bezerra administration made four adjustments to the Program, totaling 50%. The first adjustment of the current administration was 11.1%, in August 2020. The previous administration granted an adjustment only in 2016. According to Resolution No. 006, of April 25, 2022, of the Management Committee of the Potiguar Milk Program (CPLP), the price of a liter of bovine milk paid by the State Government through Sethas, the Program's executor, becomes of R$ 3.25, R$ 2.05 for the producer and R$ 1.20 for the dairy. A liter of goat milk goes to R$ 3.90, of which R$ 2.70 for the producer and R$ 1.20 for the dairy (see tables below).
