Road freight drops to R$ 7.25 per km

The average freight price per kilometer traveled in Brazil declined in September, according to the Road Freight Index (IFR) from Edenred Frete, based on data from the Repom platform. The national average value dropped from R$ 7.36 in August to R$ 7.25, a decrease of 1.49%. According to Vinicios Fernandes, Director of Edenred Frete, the movement reflects stronger macroeconomic factors than cost pressures, including slower industrial activity, the impact of the "tariff increase" on exports, and the maintenance of the Selic at 15% per year. The reduction in the dollar and the drop in diesel prices also contributed. According to the Edenred Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), regular diesel fell 0.32%, to R$ 6.17, and the S-10 declined 0.16%, being sold at R$ 6.21.
