Rosselkhoznadzor opens unlimited access for Russian lentils to Indian market

The result of the work carried out by Rosselkhoznadzor was the indefinite admission of Russian lentils to the Indian market. The Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare of India notified the Service of the completion of the phytosanitary risk analysis and allowed indefinite supplies of lentils from the Russian Federation. Given the interest of Russian participants in foreign economic activity, the department initiated the procedure for admitting lentils to the Indian market at the end of 2020, including sending technical information for the phytosanitary risk analysis. In September 2021, the National Plant Protection Organization of India presented quarantine phytosanitary requirements for lentils and allowed the supply of trial lots.
