Russia: The decline in egg prices in April slowed to 1%

Moscow. May 17. INTERFAX.RU - Consumer prices for eggs in April decreased by 1% compared to March, chicken meat became cheaper by 0.3%, Rosstat reported. The rate of decline in egg prices slowed: in March they amounted to 2.3%. The decline in chicken prices accelerated: in March prices fell by 0.2%. According to Rosstat, since the beginning of the year, prices for eggs have decreased by 5.6%, for chicken - by 4.1%. In annual terms, eggs in April were almost 1.5 times more expensive, chicken meat - by 26.4%. As reported, due to the high rise in prices for these products last year, the government took a number of measures to stabilize the situation. Thus, for the first half of this year, the duty on the import of eggs was canceled, which will allow the import of up to 1.2 billion eggs.
