Dmitry Leonov, deputy chairman of the Rusprodsoyuz association, has predicted a rise in apple production by the end of next year, leading to a market recovery and self-sufficiency rate of over 85%. The market volume this year is projected to be around 2 million tons with a per capita consumption of 13.8 kg. Russia imports apples from several countries, but these imports are expected to decrease in the long term. Current average prices for apples stand at 137.1 rubles per kilogram, marking a monthly decrease of 3.6%.
