Brazil is experiencing a suspension of chicken meat exports from several countries, including Mexico, South Korea, Chile, Canada, Uruguay, Malaysia, Argentina, Cuba, and Bahrain, due to concerns about bird flu, with the suspension extending to certain regions in Japan and Singapore. The situation arose from a bird flu outbreak in Montenegro, Porto Alegre, and other locations, leading to calls for increased resources to combat the disease and other health crises in Brazil. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock is considering the possibility of grouping these crises into a single request for increased budget, alongside plans for a National Fund for Health Issues to compensate producers affected by such crises.
