Russia does not expect a shortage of red fish before the New Year

Rosrybolovstvo does not see any prerequisites for a shortage of salmon on the Russian market ahead of the New Year holidays, despite the reduction in their catch. This was stated by the head of the department Ilya Shestakov in an interview with the TASS agency at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2024). He predicts that by the end of the current year, Russian fishermen will catch from 250 to 260 thousand tons. This is more than two times less than last year, when a record of more than 600 thousand tons was observed. With this figure, Russia became the world leader in salmon fishing.
