In July 2024, Russia saw a significant increase in pork exports to China, reaching $9.6 million, a 4.3 times increase from June. This places Russia fifth among China's pork import source countries, as imports from France and Chile have decreased. The Netherlands and the United States also reported a decrease in imports. Besides Brazil, Spain, Denmark, and the Netherlands, China's top pork importers now include Russia. Since lifting import restrictions in September 2023, China has imported $12.5 million of pork from Russia. Russian companies have already supplied 4,260 tons of pork to China, with expectations to increase to at least 15,000 tons by the end of the year.
