Russia has increased barley supplies to Saudi Arabia by almost 9 times, deliveries exceeded 1 million tons

Since the start of 2024, Russia has exported over 1.1 million tons of barley to Saudi Arabia, making it the top buyer of Russian barley this year, as reported by the Agroexport federal center of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. However, the Institute of Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) forecasts a decline in both barley harvest and export for the 2024/25 season, with expected gross harvests decreasing to 16.9 million tons from 21.1 million tons in 2023, and exports potentially dropping to 3.5 million tons from a record 8.3 million tons in the 2023/24 season.
