In the first nine months of the year, Russia exported over 920,000 tons of wheat or wheat-rye flour, marking a 1.3-fold increase compared to the same period last year. The primary buyers were Afghanistan, China, and Iraq. This growth is due to limited supply from other major suppliers, a weaker ruble, and expanded supply geography. Makfa, a leading Russian flour producer, boosted its exports by 1.5 times, reaching over 20 countries. Projections suggest that by 2030, Russian flour exports could hit 1.7 million tons, with 2024 exports expected to rise to 1.5 million tons from just over 1 million tons in 2023.
