Russia increased supplies of tangerines from Abkhazia by almost 70%

Since the beginning of the citrus season, which began in October, Abkhazia has exported more than 3.5 thousand tons of tangerines to Russia, which is 1.4 thousand tons more than at the same time in 2022, TASS reported, citing the statistics department of the State Customs Committee of Abkhazia. According to the head of the department, Asida Kvitsinia, supplies of tangerines increased by 67%. Supplies of persimmons to Russia also increased - 151 tons versus 60 tons in 2022 (an increase of 2.5 times) and lemons - by 62% (158 tons versus 98 tons in 2022). At the same time, feijoa export figures in 2023 are 5% lower: 622 tons were exported, while last year 656 tons were supplied. The tangerine season begins in early October and ends almost in March, with a peak in December. The export of feijoa and persimmons ends in December.
