In the first quarter of this year, Russia experienced a significant 19.5% increase in the export of dairy products compared to the same period in the previous year. This growth continues a trend of nearly 9% in dairy product exports from the end of 2023 compared to 2022. The opening of three new markets, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, and Syria, has contributed to this growth. The exports primarily consist of fermented milk products, cheese, and cottage cheese. The increase in exports is attributed to improved productivity in Russian dairy farming and the establishment of modern production facilities, with over 900 dairy complexes introduced in the past five years. This has led to a surge in the production of various dairy products, with cheese seeing a 16% increase, cream up by 19%, ice cream by 13%, and milk powder by 7% in 2023.
