The Russian Federal Fisheries Agency (Rosrybolovstvo) has revised its plans to increase the country's pollock quota in the Western Bering Sea, setting the total allowable catch at 700,000 metric tons, in line with scientific advice from the All-Russian Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography. This decision reverses Rosrybolovstvo's earlier proposal for a higher TAC, which was not in agreement with the institute's recommendations. The revised figure reflects the stable biomass value and optimal fishing load determined from recent studies.
