Russia replaces Kazakhstan in flour export markets

Russia intends to set a new record for flour exports in the new season. The forecast for supply volumes is estimated at 1.2 million tons. The largest importers of Russian flour were Afghanistan, China and Iraq. According to grain experts of the Russian Federation, the successful export of Russian flour is facilitated by a reduction in supplies from Kazakhstan and Ukraine, reports the APK News agency. According to the Bureau of National Statistics, in 2023 Kazakhstan exported 895 thousand tons of wheat and rye flour. This is 4% more than in 2022. 313 thousand tons were sent to the CIS countries, which is 21% more than a year earlier. To the rest of the world - 582 thousand tons - 4% less than in 2022. The bulk was sent to Afghanistan and Uzbekistan - 580 thousand tons and 260 thousand tons, respectively. In the Uzbek direction, there is an annual growth of 32%.
