In August, Russia exported pork products to China worth $11.3 million, which is nearly half of the total supplies for the year. The country ranked 6th among 17 pork suppliers to the Chinese market, with the largest volumes received by Spain, Brazil, Denmark, the Netherlands, and France. Three Russian companies are currently authorized to export pork to China, with exports reaching 27 thousand tons by September 12, and expectations of supplies to double by year-end. The National Union of Pig Breeders predicts that Russian pork could make up to 10% of China's imports in the future. Meanwhile, Russian agricultural organizations have seen a slight increase in pig production in August compared to the previous year.
