According to the head of the Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center, Ilyushin, Russia increased its exports of cheese and whey to countries outside the CIS in the first half of 2025.
Ilyushin pointed out: "Since the beginning of 2025, Russia has exported over 143 tons of cheese and whey to Mongolia, 57 tons to China, 14 tons to the UAE, 7 tons to Serbia, and 5 tons to Turkey."
The main importers of Russian cheese and whey are countries from the former Soviet Union. In the first half of 2025, Russia's exports of cheese and whey to Belarus increased by 39%, and to Kazakhstan by 15%. The top five importers of Russian cheese and whey also include Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan.
In the first half of this year, Russia's exports of cheese and whey increased by 20% year-on-year, reaching $70 million, with an export volume of 14,000 tons.
