Russian Association predicts that pollock production in 2025 will be the same as last year

In 2024, Russia's production of Russian pollock surpassed the United States by 47%, with a quota of 2.46 million tons set for 2025, a 56% increase from the U.S. The beginning of the Okhotsk Sea's fishing season in 2025 is anticipated to be successful due to favorable conditions. The total catch of Russian pollock in the Spring of 2024 exceeded 1 million tons for the first time in 15 years, with 830,000 tons coming from the Sea of Okhotsk. However, the Bering Sea's quota utilization rate was below 70%, and the fishing situation for 2025 is expected to be challenging with an increased quota of 775,200 tons for the West Bering Sea.
