According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, in the first half of 2025, China imported 183,000 tons of Russian buckwheat, with a total import value of $49 million. In the first half of 2024, China imported approximately 118,000 tons of Russian buckwheat, with a total import value of about $42 million. The Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center pointed out that the volume of Russian buckwheat exports to China increased by 55% year-on-year, and the export value increased by 17%.
The Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center emphasized that over the past five years, the import volume of buckwheat from Russia by China within half a year has increased by 69 times, and the import value has increased by 65 times.
