Russian companies are looking for new channels for selling meal

According to the National Feed Union, 13.5 million tons of meals and cakes were produced in Russia in the 2023/24 season. Of these, sunflower - 7 million tons, soybean - 4.7 million tons, rapeseed - 1.8 million tons. About 9.2 million tons of meals are consumed domestically annually, writes Agro Portal. Russia's exports for 10 months of the 2023/24 season amounted to about 4.4 million tons of plant meals in all directions, compared to 3.4 million tons for the same period a year earlier. The main buyers of meals from Russia were Belarus, Turkey and China, a total of about 2.7 million. Belarus is the main importer. Over the 10 months of the 23/24 season, the country became a key buyer of sunflower meal and cake, exports amounted to 850 thousand tons, while a year earlier for the same period they were at the level of 498 thousand tons.
