Russian Far East pollock fishing speeds up: Significant increases in two maritime areas, port returns imminent

From the main battlefront of pollock fishing, the 2026 fishing season in the Sea of Okhotsk has fully commenced. As of early February, the total pollock catch across all areas reached 243.8 thousand tons, with 111.7 thousand tons coming from the Sea of Okhotsk. This structure implies that although the Sea of Okhotsk remains the core fishing area, the release of quotas in other regions of the Far East is accelerating the overall progress.
