Russian fishermen exceed the catch volume by almost 12% compared to last year, more than 4.4 million tons were harvested

In the Far Eastern fishery basin, production increased by 17% and reached 3.38 million tons. The pollock fishery produced almost 72.6 thousand tons more – over 1.74 million tons. The herring catch amounted to 286.9 thousand tons, flounder 69.6 thousand tons. The volume of cod production amounted to 99.6 thousand tons. In the Northern Fisheries Basin, fishermen caught 391 thousand tons, including cod - 226.6 thousand tons, haddock - 64.7 thousand tons, capelin - 23 thousand tons. In the Western fishery basin, production increased by 6.7% and reached 61.1 thousand tons. In the sprat fishery, the catch amounted to more than 32.6 thousand tons, which is 1.7 thousand tons more than the same period in 2022, and Baltic herring – 20.5 thousand tons, which is 2.6 thousand tons higher than the 2022 level.
