In September, Russia experienced a significant decline in grain exports, with a 25% decrease compared to the previous year. Wheat shipments fell by 16%, and exports of barley and corn also saw substantial reductions. The variety of grain types exported dropped from 29 to eight, and the geographical range of shipments became more limited. Despite this, Egypt increased its purchases and remained the largest buyer, while exports to Turkey, Iran, and other countries decreased. The number of companies exporting wheat also declined sharply. Overall, in the first three months of the current season, grain exports were down by 11.4% compared to the previous year, with expectations of continued reduction due to logistical challenges and rising domestic demand.
