In October, the Russian Federation saw a slight increase in grain exports, shipping 7.14 million tons, which is 1% more than the previous year, according to the Russian Grain Union. This marks the first increase this season, with the majority of the shipments being wheat, which increased by 10.8% compared to the previous year. However, barley and corn exports saw decreases of 31.6% and 62.5% respectively. Since the start of the season in July, 25 million tons of grain have been shipped, with a 7% decrease in wheat exports and a 13% decrease in total grain exports compared to the previous year. Egypt, Algeria, and Turkey were the largest buyers, with Kenya, Tunisia, and Nigeria also increasing their purchases. There were also new export destinations including Jordan, Sri Lanka, and Ethiopia, but there were no deliveries to Brazil, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Latvia, Iraq, and Pakistan.
