Rwandan scientists search for high-yielding potato varieties

Scientists at the Rwanda Agriculture Board (RAB) are currently conducting field trials on two new potato varieties that may show increased resilience to high temperatures and yield up to 25-40 tonnes per hectare. The new varieties, 'cyerekezo' and 'twihaze', are being tested in the country's Eastern Province and show excellent adaptability to warm regions, suitable for irrigated land.
