The National Association of Sachet And Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) in Ghana has corrected inaccuracies in a recent price adjustment announcement for sachet water, effective from March 15, 2021. The association clarified that the correct price for most brands, as per the Food and Drug Authority (FDA), is GHS2.5, but noted that unregulated brands may sell for less. They also explained that the price adjustment includes ex-factory price at GHS2.5, ex-truck price or retail price from distribution trucks at GHS3.5, and bulk sales price at GHS3 per 200 bags. The public is urged to be aware of the FDA number on sachet water packages to ensure authenticity.
