Date palm planted area grows by 8.12% in Mexico

2000Agro/Editorial The extension of area planted with date palm in Mexico grew 8.12 percent 2021 to 2022, to reach 3,268 hectares that produced 19,465 tons of this fruit that offers important benefits to farmers and rural families of arid areas of the country, reported the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader), Víctor Villalobos Arámbula. He detailed that Mexico occupies third place in the world as a producer—after Israel and United States—of the Medjool date that is recognized for its high quality nutritional and its contribution to the territorial development of these areas of the country, with inclusion and social justice.
