The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced its commitment to support Central American and Caribbean nations in combating African swine fever and the giant African snail, and congratulated the region for staying free of the Khapra beetle. The National Service for Agri-food Health, Safety and Quality (Senasica) highlighted Mexico's leading role in promoting good agricultural practices and its support for other countries in pest control. Senasica also shared its expertise and resources with other OIRSA member countries, including training canine pairs for pest detection and establishing training centers in Panama, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. OIRSA has strengthened epidemiological surveillance and implemented measures to contain ASF and prevent fusarium entry, with success in detecting and containing the giant African snail in the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.
