Two friends, Oğuzhan Etiler and Mehmet Köseoğlu, have started the first vertical soilless farming saffron production in Turkey, aiming to bring high-value products to the global market. Saffron, known as 'red gold', is used in the food industry and medicine for its cancer and mutation preventing properties. The province has imported 100 thousand saffron bulbs, marking the start of saffron production using the soilless farming method. The plant can be harvested for 3-4 years.
