Safran, a unique variety of saffron, is being produced in Safranbolu, Karabük, Turkey, by 29 farmers across 58 decares of land. The product is expected to yield between 25 and 27 kilograms this year, selling for 50-60 thousand liras per kilogram. The district is actively supporting the farmers and planning to increase production, as saffron is the most expensive spice in the world and has significant applications in health, industry, medicine, and food. The Agriculture Directorate is providing support to boost production, and the municipality is also planting saffron and planning to provide onions free to citizens.
