A delegation led by Chile's Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and Frutas de Chile, in collaboration with Chilean embassies and attachés in Japan and South Korea, is holding discussions with phytosanitary authorities in these countries to prepare for the 2024-2025 fruit export season. The talks aim to address issues such as the entry of new Chilean fruits, the status of Chilean apples for export, and necessary phytosanitary measures. In Japan, the delegation also explored the fruit and meat import processes and received a warm reception from importers. Discussions with the Korea Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) and the Port of Incheon in South Korea are ongoing.
