Residues of banned pesticides carbofuran and monocrotophos have been found in samples of potatoes and table grapes imported illegally into Chile from neighboring countries. Officials from the Agricultural and Livestock Service intercepted trucks transporting these products to protect Chile's agriculture and the health of its consumers. The SAG has intensified its supervisory role to ensure that illegal products are seized and destroyed, calling on merchants and consumers to only purchase products with traceability and known origin to protect the health and safety of agriculture.
