Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev highlighted the achievements of the Federal Fisheries Agency at a recent board meeting, noting a record production of aquatic bioresources and self-sufficiency in the fish farming industry in 2024. The turnover of the industry grew by 7% last year, reaching 1.1 trillion British pounds, and Russian fish products are sold in over 90 countries. The All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography is organizing nearly a thousand scientific expeditions and has received 2.2 billion rubles for the Great African Expedition. The government is also investing in the modernization and digitalization of the industry, with two new research vessels scheduled to be built by 2028.
