Sales of Olive Oils from Spain in China for the 2021-2022 campaign saw a 10.25% increase in volume, reaching 45,840 tons, and a 48% increase in value, totaling nearly 177 million euros. This makes China the second largest buyer of Spanish olive oil outside of Europe and the fifth largest overall, surpassing Japan and the UK. The value of exports has nearly doubled from the previous campaign, a trend that Pedro Barato, president of the Spanish Olive Oil Interprofessional, attributes to the marketing campaign 'Olive Oils from Spain.
