Russia's imports of Chilean fish have decreased by a third in the first nine months of the year, totaling 34,000 tons, which is a 35% decrease in value amounting to $157 million, according to the Russian Fisheries Union (UPR). The most significant drop was in the import of frozen salmon, which fell by half in both physical and monetary terms. This reduction is attributed to the rising price of Chilean salmon, now at $9 per kilogram, and the increased import of trout from Turkey and Iran.
