The olive sector in San Juan, Argentina, has seen a 26% increase in exports in value and 27% increase in volume compared to the same period in 2023, with olive oil being the primary export. Despite a decrease in volume, the sector experienced an 11% increase in value. Preserved olives, on the other hand, saw a significant doubling in value and volume. San Juan, with over 15,000 hectares of olive groves, is the leading producer and exporter of extra virgin olive oil in Argentina. Argentina ranked 8th in the world in olive oil exports in 2023, with a 109% increase due to higher international prices from a global shortage.
