The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) has facilitated the sale of 60 tons of cocoa valued at S/ 1.5 million to Argentina, benefiting 47 small producers from the Kuri Valle del Sisa Agrarian Cooperative (Kurivas) in San Martín. This achievement, supported by Sierra y Selva Exportadora during the XIV Regional Cocoa and Chocolate Festival, is part of Kurivas' efforts to obtain organic certification for better competitiveness. The upcoming Cocoa and Chocolate Show 2024 will provide a platform for various producer organizations to network and explore industry innovations. Peru's cocoa cultivation involves over 100,000 producers across 16 regions, with notable export growth in recent years.
